Lechler Impone Nuevo Estándar

Shane Lechler continua rompiendo records del Plata y Negro

Después de 12 temporadas en la NFL, el despejador Shane Lechler ha sido seleccionado a su séptimo Pro Bowl. Despejó el balón en 78 ocasiones acumulando 3,960 yardas, con un promedio de 50.8 yardas por despeje e impuso una nueva marca de franquicia al registrar un despeje de 80 yardas. También posicionó 27 despejes dentro de la yarda 20.

El despeje de 80 yardas lo hizo en contra de los Osos de Chicago el 27 de noviembre del 2010 en el Coliseo O.co. Rompió la marca previa de 77 yardas el ya había empatado en el partido inicial del 2011 en Denver.

Lechler necesita 177 despejes y 153 yardas para superar a Ray Guy en ambas categorías por el primer lugar en la historia de los Raiders.

El veterano lanzó su primer pase de anotación en una jugada de engaño durante un intento de gol de campo en el partido contra Cleveland en el Coliseo O.co. El ala cerrada Kevin Boss atrapó el pase de Lechler y se escapó 35 yardas hasta las diagonales.

Lechler fue seleccionado por el organismo USA Football al ‘2011 USA Football All-Fundamentals Team’. USA Football selecciona 26 jugadores de la NFL: 11 ofensivos, 11 defensivos y cuatro de equipos especiales. Los jugadores seleccionados demuestran de manera ejemplar las técnicas del fútbol para que sean emuladas por los jugadores jóvenes.
