The Oakland Raiders visited Parker Elementary School in Oakland, Calif., Tuesday afternoon for the NFL and United Way’s annual Hometown Huddle.
Raiderville, the immensely popular pregame tailgate party that made its debut in 2009, returns for a sixth straight year in 2014. Raiderville boasts fun activities for both adults as well as youngsters.
The Oakland Raiders are proud to introduce the Oakland Raiders Academic Honors Award, an award recognizing local students and educators for their academic achievements and positive impact within the community.
Each month during The Oakland Raiders 2014 regular season, The Raiders will select five recipients for the Academic Honors Award. Each of the recipients will be given tickets to attend a game with a guest, be presented with an Academic Honors plaque, and recognized on-field for a special pre-game ceremony.
The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week program”, presented by the California National Guard, promotes high school football, giving high school coaches and teams the recognition that they deserve.
The NFL and its 32 teams recognize August as USA Football Month, saluting USA Football as the sport’s leader in coaching education and player development on high school and youth levels.
