The Raiders celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by partnering with a local Ballet Folklorico performance group to educate local youth about the history of Ballet Folklorico and its significance to the heritage of Mexico & Latin American culture.
In an effort to help students in the Hayward Unified School District eat healthier and stay physically active, the Raiders and California Milk Advisory Board came together to award a $20,000 “Hometown” Grant.
The Raiders will participate in recess activities led by Playworks youth coaches – students that were chosen as leaders on the playground to make sure their peers are active and having fun!
Raiders safety Karl Joseph, former Raider Robert Jenkins, and Hall of Famer Anthony Muñoz taught kids football skills as well as how to be a positive influence in their community.
Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff along with the Biletnikoff Foundation, joined with partners, program facilitators, city and county officials, and members of the Raiders organization for the grand re-opening. Over $500,000 was fundraised for this project with the help of Biletnikoff Foundation donors, partners and friends.
