The Raiders will travel to Paul Brown Stadium in Week 12 to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The two teams first met in 1968 and have faced off 26 times in the regular season with the Raiders holding a commanding 18-8 all-time series lead. The Raiders beat the Bengals in the 1990 AFC Divisional game to advance to the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills.

Coach

Marvin Lewis enters his 10^th season as the Bengals head coach. He has a 69-74-1 regular season record since he took over as head coach in 2003. The team has gone to the playoffs three times (2005, 2009, 2011) under Lewis. Prior to his position with Cincinnati, Lewis was the assistant head coach/defensive coordinator with the Washington Redskins in 2002 and the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens from 1996-2001. He was also an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1992-1995. Lewis played linebacker, quarterback and safety at Idaho State.

Last Five Match Ups

The Raiders hosted the Bengals in 2009 Week 11 and beat Cincinnati 20-17. WR Louis Murphy caught a 29-yard TD pass and SS Tyvon Branch led the team in tackles with 11 and added a sack and forced fumble. QB Carson Palmer was the quarterback for the Bengals and threw for 207 yards.

In 2006, the Raiders traveled to Cincinnati and lost to the Bengals 27-10 in Week 14. QB Carson Palmer threw for 297 yards and two TDs for the Bengals. Raiders WR Ronald Curry caught eight passes for 99 yards and a TD.

The Raiders beat the Bengals 23-20 at home in Week 2 of 2003. K Sebastian Janikowski kicked three field goals and RB Tyrone Wheatley scored a TD. The Raiders defense added 2.0 sacks and two interceptions.

On October 25, 1998, the Raiders beat the Bengals 27-10 in Oakland. RB Napoleon Kaufman rushed 31 times for 143 yards. Both WRs Tim Brown and James Jett scored receiving TDs and the defense recorded 6.0 sacks and an interception.

The Raiders traveled to Cincinnati in 1995 and beat the Bengals 20-17. RB Harvey Williams rushed 24 times for 134 yards and a TD. WR Tim Brown caught four passes for 67 yards and a TD. DE Pat Swilling recorded 3.0 sacks and DT Chester McGlockton added 1.0 sack.

Story Lines

The Raiders will face their 2011 head coach and 2010 offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, who is now the assistant special teams and assistant defensive backs coach for the Bengals.

WR Louis Murphy played at Florida with Bengals DEs Carlos Dunlap and Derrick Harvey and S Reggie Nelson.

OL Stefen Wisniewski, DE Jack Crawford, LB Nathan Stupar and S Chaz Powell will face former Nittany Lion teammate Bengals draft pick DT Devon Still.

TE David Ausberry, C Alex Parsons, and OL Nick Howell will see former USC teammates LB Rey Mauluga and S Taylor Mays.

LB Aaron Curry played at Wake Forest with Bengals CB Brandon Ghee.

FB Owen Schmitt will face West Virginia alums S Robert Sands and CB Adam Jones.

DE Matt Shaughnessy will see former Wisconsin teammates DT Nick Hayden and FB Chris Pressley.
