The Saints are coached by Joe Vitt, who is serving as the interim head coach during Sean Payton’s suspension. Vitt has been the Saints assistant head coach and linebackers coach since 2006. Prior to his time with the Saints, Vitt was the assistant head coach and linebackers coach for the St. Louis Rams and acted as interim head coach for the Rams for 11 games in 2005. He has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Colts.

The Raiders last played the Saints in the regular season in 2008 in New Orleans and fell 38-3. DB Gibril Wilson led the Raiders defense in tackles with 10.
The Silver and Black hosted the Saints in Week 7 of the 2004 season. The Raiders lost to the Saints 31-26 despite a 350-yard and two-TD passing performance from QB Kerry Collins. WR Jerry Porter caught six passes for 113 yards and a TD and K 
In 2000, the Raiders beat the Saints 31-22 at the Georgia Dome. QB Rich Gannon threw for 160 yards and two TDs and added 55 rushing yards. RB Zack Crockett rushed 17 times for 44 yards and two TDs and WR Tim Brown caught four passes for 69 yards and a TD. The defense recorded 3 sacks and an interception.
In Week 11 of the 1997 season, the Raiders fell to the Saints at home 13-10. WR Rickey Dudley caught five passes for 116 yards and RB Harvey Williams scored the Raiders lone touchdown.
The Los Angeles Raiders hosted the Saints in 1994 and won 24-19. QB Jeff Hostetler threw for 310 yards and three TDs, including two to WR Tim Brown. RB Harvey Williams rushed 24 times for 88 yards and WR Rocket Ismail caught four passes for 68 yards and a TD. The defense recorded 4.0 sacks and an interception.
