Linebacker Marquel Lee

The fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft is underway and with the 168th overall pick of the draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Wake Forest linebacker Marquel Lee.

Here are five things you should know about the Raiders newest player:

Lee will reunite with a former teammate.

The former Demon Deacon isn't the only one to represent the school on the Raiders; wide receiver K.J. Brent also attended Wake Forest. The duo only played a season together at Wake Forest, but nonetheless Brent is very excited about reuniting with his former teammate.

He eclipsed 100 tackles in a season twice.

Lee played all four years at Wake Forest, but broke out his sophomore season with 101 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and four sacks. He would once again put up impressive numbers his senior campaign with 105 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks.

Lee is passionate about the game.

According to his player bio, back in pre-college days at Westlake High School in Waldorf, Md., he was an emotional leader on the team and carried that to the college level where he was classified as a team leader.

He was also a two-time captain.

He played multiple positions in high school.

While Lee is known for his defensive prowess at linebacker, he was also a quarterback at his high school during his junior year, and throwing for 800 yards.

Not bad for a guy who was just drafted to play linebacker in the NFL.

Lee has drawn praise for his size.

Lee has been labeled as an aggressive player, but his noteworthy physical attributes are his height (6'3"), arm length (32½"), and weight (240 pounds).
