Introducing Oakland Raiders Academic Honors Award

The Oakland Raiders are proud to introduce the Oakland Raiders Academic Honors Award, an award recognizing local students and educators for their academic achievements and positive impact within the community.

The Oakland Raiders are proud to introduce the Oakland Raiders Academic Honors Award, an award recognizing local students and educators for their academic achievements and positive impact within the community. Recipients of this distinguished award are advocates for higher education and role models both inside and out of the classroom.

Each month during The Oakland Raiders 2014 regular season, The Raiders will select five (5) recipients for the Academic Honors Award. Each of the recipients will be given tickets to attend a game with a guest, be presented with an Academic Honors plaque, and recognized on-field for a special pre-game ceremony.

Nominations for the award are open to elementary, middle, and highs school principals, teachers, and students located in the Contra Costa County and Alameda County. Nominations for principals must be made by a teacher and/or school administrator. Nominations for teachers must be made by a principal or school administrator. Nominations for a student must be made by a principal, teacher, and/or school administrator. All nominations must have the name of the principal for that school to verify nominees.

Nomination Guidelines:

Open to – Schools/Location:

  • Elementary, middle and high schools in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties

Nominations:

  • For students – nomination must be made by principal, teacher, and/or school administrator of the student’s school
  • For teachers – nomination must be made by principal and/or school administrator of the teacher’s school
  • For principals – nomination must be made by teacher and/or school administrator of the principal’s school
  • An individual may only be nominated once during a season and will be eligible for the award until the conclusion of the 2014 regular season.

Eligibility:

  • Nominees must be a student, teacher, or principal, currently enrolled or employed, respectively, at a school located in the California counties of Contra Costa or Alameda.

Recipients will receive:

  • Two (2) tickets to a home game
  • Pre-game sideline passes
  • Online recognition
  • Raiders Academic Honors plaque
