During his regularly scheduled Monday press conference, Raiders Head Coach Dennis Allen named
“We’re going to go with Terrelle [Pryor]. We’re going to play Terrelle this week,” Coach Allen said. “He’s going to be the starter. I informed both those guys this morning and we’ll go from there.”
Coach Allen said the decision stemmed from wanting to continue the evaluation of Pryor and that
“We had a chance to see Matt McGloin for six games. I liked a lot of the things that I saw in Matt,” Coach Allen said. “It’s been a while since we’ve gotten an opportunity to see Terrelle in a game and I want to get him in the game and get another opportunity to evaluate him.”
Pryor has completed 135 of 234 pass attempts for 1,591 yards, 5 TDs and 11 INTs in 10 games (8 starts) this season. McGloin has completed 118 of 211 pass attempts for 1,547 yards, 8 TDs and 8 INTS in 7 games (6 starts).
“I’ve been pleased with what I’ve seen out of Matt McGloin since really the first moment he walked on campus here,” Coach Allen said. “I think we have a guy that can be in our plans for the future. I’m glad he’s on this football team.”
The Raiders conclude the 2013 campaign against the Broncos this Sunday. The Raiders have played the Broncos in 6 season finales and won 5 of those match-ups, all home games for the Silver and Black.
