'Raider Nation Station' on Pandora Continues in 2014

The Oakland Raiders and Pandora (NYSE:P), the leading internet radio service, today announced the continuation of their partnership for the 2014 NFL season.

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders and Pandora (NYSE:P), the leading internet radio service, today announced the continuation of their partnership for the 2014 NFL season. The partnership, which kicked-off in October of 2013, includes a customized Raider Nation Station and allows fans in attendance at home games to participate in a “vote for your favorite song” promotion.

Returning Raiders Tyvon Branch, Marquette King and Rod Streater kicked off the relationship last year when they spent the afternoon at Pandora headquarters in the studio recording audio spots and learning about the Music Genome Project®. A deeply detailed musical taxonomy, the Music Genome Project powers the personalization of Pandora by using musicological "DNA" and constant listener feedback to craft personalized stations from a growing collection of more than one million tracks.

“After the successful kick-off of our partnership last year, we look forward to teaming up with the Raiders again this season,” said Simon Fleming-Wood, Pandora’s Chief Marketing Officer.  “Being an Oakland company is a core part of Pandora’s identity.  In addition to collaborating on a customized Raider Nation Station that fans all over the country can enjoy, we are excited to again bring the Pandora experience off-platform for an interactive experience at home games in Oakland.”

Raider players Jon Condo, Maurice Jones-Drew and Sio Moore recently made the short trip from the Raiders’ Alameda facility to Pandora headquarters in Oakland where they recorded updated audio drops and provided a list of their favorite songs to be added to the updated Raider Nation Station.

During the visit, Moore talked about his long-standing affinity for Pandora. “I listen to Pandora every day and some of the stations that I listen to are Smooth Jazz, B.B. King, Michael Jackson, Jaheim, Young Jeezy, A Tribe Called Quest, Phil Collins, John Mayer, there’s so many,” said Moore.

Jones-Drew, a Bay area native who joined the Silver and Black as a free agent during the offseason after spending his first seven NFL season with Jacksonville, talked about his personal playlist. “It’s pretty much a lot of old-school, Bay Area, a little Phil Collins mixed in, something I like to listen to before games,” said Jones-Drew. “I hope people enjoy it.”

Condo, one of the longest-tenured Raiders on the current roster, shared thoughts on his Pandora experience. “I listen to Pandora all the time,” Condo said. “I throw on anything from 1950s classic rock to modern-day country, gangster rap, everything,” said Condo. "For my game day mix, I like stuff that puts me in a good mood.”
