Raiders 2010 Opponents Determined

Posted Jan 4, 2010

Raiders will face all four teams from the AFC South and NFC West, plus a team from the AFC East and AFC North.

Raiders 2010 Regular Season Opponents
Home Away
Indianapolis Pittsburgh
Houston Tennessee
Miami Jacksonville
St. Louis Arizona
Seattle San Francisco
Denver Denver
Kansas City Kansas City
San Diego San Diego

As members of the AFC Western Division, the Raiders will renew their long-standing rivalries with the Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Diego Chargers with home and away match-ups.

The Silver and Black will host the Indianapolis Colts, the Houston Texans, the Miami Dolphins, the St. Louis Rams, and the Seattle Seahawks. The Raiders will travel to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Tennessee Titans, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Arizona Cardinals, and the San Francisco 49ers.

The Raiders lead the all-time series against the Broncos, 56-41-2. The teams split the 2009 season series with each team winning on the road. The Chiefs lead the all-time series 52-45-2 against the Raiders. The teams split the season series in 2009, again, with both teams winning on the road. The Raiders lead the all-time series against the Chargers, 54-44-2, but lost both games to San Diego in 2009 by a combined total of 12 points.

The Silver and Black defeated Houston the last time the Texans traveled to Oakland during the 2008 regular season.

The Raiders and Colts have only met 11 times in the regular season with the Silver and Black holding a 7-4 advantage. The Colts were formerly located in Baltimore.

The Rams travel to Oakland in the regular season for the first time since 2006. The Raiders lead the all-time series 7-4.

The Raiders face the Seahawks in Oakland in the regular season for the first time since a Raiders victory kicked off the 2002 campaign and a run to the Super Bowl. The Raiders lead the all-time series 27-23.

The Raiders host the Miami Dolphins for the first time since 2005. The Raiders lead the all-time series 16-12-1. The teams last met in Miami in 2007 and 2008.

The Raiders head to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars for the first time since 2007. This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two teams. The Raiders and Jaguars first met in 1996.

A regular season trip to Nashville is on the slate for the first time since 2007. The Tennessee Titans and the Raiders last met in Nashville during the 2008 pre-season. The Raiders lead the all-time series 23-18. The Titans are an original member of the AFL and were known as the Houston Oilers.

The Raiders will make their University of Phoenix Stadium debut when they face the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona for the first time in the regular season since 2002. The teams last met in Arizona for a 2004 pre-season contest.

The shortest road trip of the season will entail a quick bus ride over the Bay Bridge as the Raiders head to San Francisco for their first regular season match-up with their cross-town rivals since 2006. The teams last met in San Francisco during the 2009 pre-season.

The Raiders travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers at Heinz Field for the second year in a row and play the Steelers for the third time in five years. The Raiders have won two of those three match-ups, defeating the then-defending Super Bowl Champions on both occasions, most recently in 2009. The Raiders lead the all-time series 10-8.

The complete playing schedule, including dates, times and TV coverage, is typically announced by the NFL some time in April.
