The Raiders have signed second-round draft pick
The Raiders have now signed nine of the team’s 10 selections from the 2013 NFL Draft. The Silver and Black begin training camp in Napa, Calif., this week, with the first practice of the season taking place Friday.
Watson (6-5, 315) was selected 42nd overall by the Raiders in April. The native of Manchester, England played his final collegiate season at Florida State after transferring from Saddleback Junior College in Mission Viejo, Calif. He played two years of college basketball at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., prior to beginning his football career.
The offensive lineman played in 13 games with 12 starts at Florida State in 2012, garnering honorable mention All-ACC honors. He allowed only one sack and was part of an offensive line that yielded just 26 sacks on the season, helping the offense rack up a program-record 6,591 total yards. In his lone season at Saddleback, Watson led his team to an 8-3 record and earned second-team All-Southern California Football Association honors.
