The Oakland Raiders are mourning the passing of Ben Davidson, who played for the Silver and Black for eight seasons from 1964-71.

The Oakland Raiders are mourning the passing of Ben Davidson, who played for the Silver and Black for eight seasons from 1964-71.

Davidson joined the Raiders in 1964 and went on to play in 110 games with 70 starts in eight seasons in Oakland. The defensive lineman was a three-time American Football League (AFL) All-Star and earned first-team All-AFL honors from the Associated Press in 1967 when he helped lead the Raiders to the AFL title and an appearance in Super Bowl II. 

The Los Angeles native attended East Los Angeles Community College and the University of Washington before playing in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers (1961) and the Washington Redskins (1962-63). He played in 154 games with 70 starts during an 11-year professional career.
