The Oakland Raiders have placed the franchise tag on linebacker Kamerion Wimbley. The franchise tag was used as a result of the league disallowing the Raiders the utilization of the buyback clause in the linebacker’s existing contract, to which the team had access.
“Kamerion is a great young talent and he and the Raiders are excited about him continuing his career as a member of the Silver and Black,” said Raiders Head Coach Hue Jackson.
Wimbley led the Silver and Black in sacks last year with nine.
