The Oakland Raiders have re-signed DL Brian Sanford to the active roster, General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Wednesday.

Sanford, who was waived by the team on Nov. 9, has appeared in four games – including one start – for the Silver and Black this season, and has totaled seven tackles (three solo).

The 6-foot-2, 280-pounder spent the previous three seasons as a member of the Cleveland Browns after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Sanford spent the first seven weeks of the 2012 season on Cleveland’s practice squad before being signed to the active roster, and appeared in one game before being placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Nov. 2. Sanford made his NFL debut on Dec. 4, 2011 and played in five games for the Browns in 2011 after spending the first 12 weeks of the campaign on the practice squad. He spent his rookie season in 2010 on the Browns’ practice squad before being elevated to the active roster for the season’s final eight games, but was inactive for all of them.

The Raiders have also re-signed OL Jack Cornell and signed LB Chris McCoy to their practice squad.

Cornell, who appeared in Sunday’s game at the New York Giants, was waived by the team on Nov. 11.

McCoy was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in seventh round (212th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft and was waived by the team following training camp that year. McCoy has seen time on the practice squads of the Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars since then, as well as a stint with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League for the entire 2012 season. McCoy’s practice squad contract was terminated by the Jaguars on Oct. 1 in his most recent stop.
