The Oakland Raiders recorded their first shut out since a 24-0 win over these very same Kansas City Chiefs in 2002 with a 15-0 win in 2012 NFL Regular Season Week 15 action. The Raiders held RB Jamaal Charles to 10 yards on 9 carries and K Sebastian Janikowski accounted for all of the scoring with 5 field goals.

The Chiefs won the opening coin toss and elected to defer their choice to the second half. RB Mike Goodson fielded K Ryan Succop’s opening kickoff and took a knee in the end zone for a touchback. The Raiders went three-and-out and P Shane Lechler came on for his 1,000th-career punt. The teams traded punts and the Raiders started their second possession at their 3.

The Raiders drive stalled at their 40 and Lechler came on to punt. The 59-yard boot bounced into the end zone for a touchback. The Raiders held the Chiefs to another three-and-out and Succop came on to punt. WR Denarius Moore called for and made a fair catch and penalty on Kansas City during the punt put the ball at the Oakland 40.

The Raiders drove to the Chiefs 2 but were forced to settle for a 20-yard Janikowski field goal, which gave the Raiders a 3-0 lead with 1:44 left in the 1st quarter.

WR Josh Bellamy fielded Janikowski’s ensuing kickoff in the end zone and returned it 27 yards to the 20. The Raiders held the Chiefs to another three-and-out and Colquitt came on to punt at the start of the 2nd quarter.

Colquitt’s punt was downed at the Oakland 15 and Terrelle Pryor took the field at quarterback. The Raiders went three-and-out and Lechler came on to punt.  CB Javier Arenas returned the 63-yard punt to the Chiefs 27.

Three plays later, CB Joselio Hanson intercepted a QB Brady Quinn pass and returned it to the KC 39. Palmer returned to the game at quarterback. The Raiders settled for a 50-yard field goal attempt. The successful kick gave the Raiders a 6-0 lead with 10:19 left in the 2nd quarter.

The Raiders were forced to settle for a Janikowski 30-yard field goal, which put them up 12-0 with 6:41 left in the 3rd quarter.

Thanks to a couple of penalties, the Chiefs drove deep into Raiders territory but the Silver and Black came up with a stop on 4th and goal and took over at the 8.

The Raiders settled for a 41-yard Janikowski field goal, which gave the home team a 15-0 lead with 13:27 left in the 4th quarter.

RB Mike Goodson dropped Bellamy at the Chiefs 13 on the ensuing kickoff return. The Chiefs drove into Raiders territory but a DT Tommy Kelly sack forced a punt. Colquitt’s punt bounced into the end zone for a touchback.

The Chiefs got the ball back when McFadden fumbled after catching a pass. Kansas City took over at the Oakland 18. The Chiefs went for it on 4th and 12 and failed to convert. The Raiders took over on downs.

The Raiders drive stalled at the 42 and Lechler came on to punt. WR Devon Wylie returned the punt to the Chiefs 30. The Chiefs were stopped on 4th and 2 and the Raiders took over on downs at the KC 38.
