The Raiders Saturday signed their first four players to the team’s 2012 practice squad.
LB Kaelin Burnett, WR Brandon Carswell, WR Travionte Session and LB Nathan Stupar have been added to the practice squad after being waived in Friday’s active-roster reduction to 53 players.
Burnett, a non-drafted free agent out of Nevada, posted four tackles in four preseason games with the Raiders.
Carswell, a native of Milpitas, Calif., totaled three catches for 36 yards in the preseason after joining the Silver and Black as a non-drafted free agent out of USC.
Session, also a non-drafted free agent out of Nevada, had four preseason catches for 48 yards.
Stupar, the Raiders’ seventh-round draft pick out of Penn State, had 11 tackles and one sack in the preseason finale at Seattle on Thursday.
Teams can establish a practice squad of up to eight players that are free agents who do not have an accrued season of free agency credit or who were on the 46-player active list for less than nine regular-season games during their only accrued season(s). A player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than three seasons.
