On injuries: “Just to start off, as far as injuries in the game, we made it out pretty clean. A few bumps and bruises, but nothing really significant.”

On significance of the game: “We didn’t play good and so I see that as significant. But it’s the last preseason game and they can’t for real now. We’ve got a lot of things we’ve got to get cleaned up, a lot of things we have to get shored up and it was obvious by our execution tonight that we weren’t ready for primetime.”

On what needs to get cleaned up: “There was a lot of things. First and foremost, we have to learn to protect the ball better. If we continue to lose the turnover battle, we’re going to struggle. We’ve got to do a better job of protecting the ball and we have to take it away a few more times on defense.”

On Roscoe Parrish: “Well, you have to protect the ball. He had two opportunities out there and we turned it over one time and the ball was on the ground the other time, so he’s done a nice job in the National Football League as a returner, so I don’t know that one night really defines who he is. But obviously, he had a rough night tonight.”

On offensive and defensive lines: “We were not good enough up front. We got over-matched up front on both sides of the ball. Obviously, I think defensively we got worn down. It wasn’t to our standard up front and we have to play better than that.”

On positives from the game: “I thought overall our tackling was pretty good. I thought early in the game, we had a couple red zone stops down there and so that was good. Offensively I thought the first drive we were able to run the ball a little bit on them, which was a good thing. But, our execution as we got into the second quarter and throughout the rest of the game was not good enough.”

On amount of value taken from the game: “It tells you where you are with your team from a depth standpoint. We’ve got to develop some more depth on this football team. We hold everybody accountable to the same standard. We’ve all got a job to do and we’ve all got to go out there and play. So we have to do a better job coaching those guys and getting them ready to play and we’ve got to do a better job of playing.”

On game helping to determine upcoming cuts: “I don’t know if it makes it any harder or any easier. I think we definitely have to look at this tape and go back and really reevaluate where we are and who we have. And then we’ll make those decisions accordingly tomorrow.”

On Bryan McCann: “He really did. He was a little bit of a bright spot for us. He had a nice return there at the end of the game. He gave us a chance to get some points on the board so that was nice. He also made a nice play on the ball down the seam. So, I was pleased with the way that he played, at least he had a couple of plays that stood out in my mind.”

On Marquette King in a boot: “He hurt it about a day or two ago and really didn’t think it was that big of a deal. I guess after flying up here on the plane, it got pretty irritated and he was having a hard time moving around so we put him in a boot and kept him out tonight.”
