Week 9  of the 2013 regular season will feature an opponent who has never won in Oakland since the NFL and AFL merged in 1970—the Philadelphia Eagles. The Raiders have hosted the Eagle three times in Oakland— 1971, 1995 and 2009— and have defeated them each time. The two teams have not played each other since the 13-9 Raiders victory in 2009.

The overall regular season series record is currently tied 5-5 with Oakland tying up the series in the 2009 matchup. In the 2013 edition of the Oakland-Philadelphia rivalry, the Raiders will look to improve their home winning streak to four games in a row.

This match-up is a rematch of Super Bowl XV in 1981 after the 1980 season. The Raiders defeated the Eagles 27-10 and marked the second world championship for the Raiders franchise.

1970s and 80s

In the 1970s, the Silver and Black dominated both games that they faced the Eagles in. The Raiders defeated the Eagles 34-10 on October 17, 1971 and then once more, 26-7 on November 21, 1976 in Philadelphia.

The 1980s showcased double the amount of Raiders-Eagles games than the 70s did, including a Super Bowl. The Oakland Raiders were matched up against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XV in New Orleans, La. This was the second Super Bowl victory for the franchise. Out of the four games the Raiders played against the Eagles during the decade, Super Bowl XV was the only one that they came out as the winners.

1990s and 2000s

In the past two decades, the Raiders have been very successful against the Eagles. After they moved back to Oakland, they have three of the past four games including two at the Coliseum.
