Raiders Team Notes

  • The blocked punt and touchdown in the first quarter was the first time that has happened for Oakland since October 10, 2010 when the Silver and Black did it against San Diego.
  • The Raiders have yet to allow a first half rushing touchdown this season. In four games, the Raiders have allowed just 44.3 first half rushing yards per game, including 44 against the Redskins (No. 14 in the NFL entering Sunday's action). Washington had just 10 second quarter rushing yards.

Individual Raiders Notes

  • Charles Woodson has now had at least one sack in each of the last six years and 18.0 in his career. Ronde Barber has an NFL record for sacks by a cornerback with 28.0. Woodson needs 2.0 more sacks to join Barber in the 40-INT, 20-sack club. The 7.0 sacks as a Raiders defensive back ties Tyvon Branch for fourth in Raiders history.
  • Jeremy Stewart's touchdown following the blocked punt was his first-career touchdown in any fashion for the second-year running back.
  • It was the second-career blocked punt for Rashad Jennings and his first since 2010. Jennings also surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards early in the third quarter (1,023 career yards with 45 against the Redskins).
  • Matt Flynn connected with Mychal Rivera for the tight end's first-career touchdown, as Rivera found the near corner and caught an 18-yard bullet from Flynn to make it 14-0 in the first quarter. Flynn orchestrated a 10-play, 81-yard drive in 5:21, which included a 35-yard strike to Denarius Moore earlier in the drive.
  • In the third quarter, Nick Roach stripped Redskins TE Logan Paulsen to create a turnover. It was Roach's sixth forced fumble and first as a Raider.
  • Matt Flynn made his third-career start this afternoon, including his first as a Raider. Flynn finished 21-of-32 for 227 yards with one TD and one INT.
  • Brian Sanford made his first-career start at defensive end.
  • Marcel Reece left the game with a knee injury and did not return, as did Darren McFadden (hamstring).
  • Jon Condo played in his 100th-consecutive game, a streak that has lasted since 2007.
