Bianca

Bianca

Bianca is a rookie but is no stranger to cheering at the Coliseum. Her dad, Tony La Russa, is a major league baseball manager, so Bianca has cheered on the Oakland Athletics since she was eight years old.

Growing up the daughter of an MLB manager, Bianca lived a different lifestyle than school-age kids. In order to travel with her dad and the team, Bianca and her sister were homeschooled. They did their studies on the road and learned their courses by exploring the cities they visited until Bianca left for college.

Bianca graduated from the University of California – Santa Cruz with an honors degree in American Studies, both pre-law and pre-education. She has worked and volunteered for The Animal Rescue Foundation, the animal shelter founded by her parents. She has taught over 900 teens and pre-teens how to be shelter volunteers, and although no longer an employee of the foundation, Bianca is still active with animal therapy. She has a dog and a cat on the therapy team, who visit nursing homes and schools.

The Raiderette rookie has also attended hundreds of rock concerts over the years. Her mom is a big metal rock & roll fan and the two have attended concerts together, going to dozens of shows per year.

In complete contrast to her metal rock ’n’ roll side, Bianca danced ballet until she went to college. Performing was one of her passions, and after many years away from the stage, she realized she missed it greatly and wanted to find a way to dance and perform again. In 2009, she attended her first Raiders game. While her friends paid close attention to the players on the field, Bianca could not keep her eyes off of the Raiderettes. Although she would rather watch the cheerleaders, Bianca has been studying football to be ready for the 2011 season.
