3rd Season with Raiders
Darryl Eto enters his third season with the Raiders as assistant strength and conditioning coach following five seasons as the director of strength and conditioning with the NBA’s Houston Rockets. Recognized as an expert in the field of plyometrics, conditioning and speed training, Eto has nearly 30 years of experience in the industry. In his current role, Eto’s focus is on all areas of athletic development.
Last season, Eto and his staff helped the club post 12 wins and return to the postseason for the first time since 2002. In 2015, Eto and the strength and conditioning staff implemented a new strength and conditioning program that assisted the team to a four-win improvement from the 2014 season. Just prior to the beginning of the 2015 season, he and his staff helped the organization in the planning, building and opening of the new Performance Center, giving the players a state of the art building in which to train and recover at the highest level.
During his time with the Rockets, Eto oversaw all player training and physical performance development. He refined his practice in applied anatomy, exercise physiology and biomechanics over the course of 25 years before joining the Rockets. Prior to working in Houston, Eto spent nearly nine years as the senior performance specialist at EXOS, formerly Athletes’ Performance, in Phoenix, Ariz. While working with the private training company, Eto developed and implemented performance training programs for professional, amateur and youth athletes in a wide array of sports.
Before joining Athletes’ Performance, Eto served as the assistant director of research development and program design at International Performance Institute in Bradenton, Fla. From 1991-97, he was the head assistant strength and conditioning coach at Arizona.
