2012: Played in the first 15 games, including his first two NFL starts, before missing the season finale with a groin injury; placed on injured reserve Dec. 29...In 175 defensive snaps, finished with 16 tackles (11 solo), two interceptions and six passes defensed – all career bests…Compiled both INTs and all six passes defensed over a four-game stretch from Dec. 2-23…Also returned 25 punts for 139 yards (5.6 avg.), and added three tackles on special teams…Claimed by Raiders in 2012 off waivers from Seattle entering the regular season, showing potential as a punt-returner early in year…Then, pressed into action at cornerback, capitalized on opportunity and parlayed a solid November-December stretch into his first NFL starts, supplanting veteran starter Ron Bartell, who was waived…However, two concussions and a groin injury conspired to limit his late-season playing time…Joined Raiders Aug. 31, less than 24 hours after returning kickoffs against Oakland in the preseason finale at CenturyLink Field (8/30)…(9/10) vs. SD: Returned a punt 15 yards in first quarter to set up game’s initial points, a Sebastian Janikowski field goal; returned his first punts since 2010 with the 49ers…(9/16) at Mia.: Returned a third-quarter punt 47 yards, Oakland’s longest in four years, to set up a field goal; also had 24- and 36-yard returns erased due to penalties…His 47-yard return was the longest by a Raider since Johnnie Lee Higgins’ 80-yard TD vs. the Houston Texans on Dec. 21, 2008…(10/14) at Atl.: Played 17 snaps at cornerback…(10/28) at KC: Ripped off a 27-yard punt return late in the third quarter…(12/2) vs. Cle.: Registered his second career interception, picking off Brandon Weeden deep in Raiders territory to end a Browns drive late in first half; however, did not return (concussion) after colliding with teammate on same play…(12/06) vs. Den.: Limited in practice due to concussion, nearly intercepted Peyton Manning twice, but settled for one…First, picked off the future Hall-of-Famer with a diving interception at his own goal line in second quarter, snaring an underthrown ball…Then, nearly corralled another Manning pass late in second quarter, forcing a Broncos punt…Also beat a blocker to make a sure third-down stop to force Denver to settle for third-quarter field goal…(12/16) vs. KC: Played well enough over a two-week period to supplant veteran starter Ron Bartell (waived), and made his first NFL start…Early in second quarter, knifed into the backfield to throw the AFC’s leading rusher, Jamaal Charles, for a 3-yard loss…However, sustained a concussion on the play and did not return…(12/23) at Car.: Returned to the lineup and broke up a first-quarter pass to force a punt, but sustained a groin injury in the first half and did not return…(12/30) at SD: Did not play, on injured reserve.
