Alameda, Calif. – RB Jalen Richard was named the recipient of the fourth-annual Oakland Raiders Craig Long Award, the team announced Friday.

Chosen by a select group of local media and facilitated by the Oakland Raiders' media relations department, the Craig Long Award is presented annually to the player who best exemplifies professionalism and collaboration with the media at large.

Richard, who earned a roster spot as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2016, has played in all 15 games with one start in his second pro season. Richard ranks second on the team with 275 rushing yards on 56 carries (4.9 avg.), including a 52-yard touchdown run, and has added 26 receptions for 250 yards with an additional score. He serves as the team's primary punt returner, totaling 26 returns for 155 yards, and has also returned eight kickoffs for 90 yards. Richard was a Pro Bowl alternate as a return specialist in his rookie year.

Long, who passed away in 2007 at age 36, was a valuable member of the Oakland Raiders' public relations staff from 1997-2004. An Iowa native, Long fulfilled his childhood dream of working in the front office for his favorite team.
