The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the list of 15 finalists for 2019 induction on Thursday and a familiar name to Raiders fans joined legendary Head Coach Tom Flores on the list. Richard Seymour, who played four seasons and was selected to two Pro Bowls with the Silver and Black, was named a finalist in his second year of eligibility.

Originally selected sixth overall out of Georgia by the New England Patriots in the 2001 NFL Draft, Seymour played 12 years in the NFL including his final four seasons with the Raiders. Acquired via trade during the 2009 preseason, Seymour made an immediate impact in his first game with the Silver and Black, recording two sacks in the season opener against the San Diego Chargers.

Seymour racked up the honors with the Patriots, earning Pro Bowl selections each year from 2002-06 and being named first-team All-Pro in three straight campaigns from 2003-05. Following his trade to Oakland, he continued to make his mark by earning Pro Bowl selections in both 2010 and 2011. He was named second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press after tallying six sacks and five tackles for loss in 2011.

In four years with the Raiders, Seymour played in 53 games with 52 starts, while totaling 18.5 sacks. Over a 12-year career, he played in 164 games with 157 starts, 57.5 sacks, 91 tackles for loss and 496 total tackles (324 solo). He also recorded 39 passes defensed with two interceptions. Seymour was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s.

Seymour started eight games with the Raiders in 2012 before a hamstring injury cut his final season short, wrapping up a stellar career as one his generation's top defensive linemen.
