Andy Dickerson enters his 20th season in the NFL and first season as assistant offensive line coach with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Dickerson most recently was in his second stint with the Browns, serving as the team's offensive line coach in 2024. Last season, he assisted an offensive line that paved the way for RB Jerome Ford to lead the team with 565 rushing yards and tied with RB Nick Chubb for the team lead with three rushing touchdowns.
Prior to Cleveland, Dickerson spent three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, first as run game coordinator in 2021 and then as offensive line coach from 2022-23. During his tenure in Seattle, the Seahawks ranked fourth in the NFL with 4.67 rushing yards per attempt.
In 2023, Seattle's offensive line blocked for a rushing attack that averaged 4.1 yards per carry. RB Kenneth Walker III finished with 905 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. The offensive line protected QB Geno Smith, who earned his second consecutive Pro Bowl nod after passing for 3,624 yards and 20 touchdowns, while tying a Seahawks franchise record with five game-winning drives.
In 2022, Dickerson led an offensive line that started rookie offensive tackles in Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas. Cross and Lucas became the first rookie duo to start a team's first 15 games at tackle since the 1970 merger. Dickerson's unit helped protect Smith who was named to the Pro Bowl and the AP Comeback Player of the Year. Seattle's rushing attack finished seventh in the NFL in yards per rush (4.80) and ended the season averaging 176.0 yards per game the final three weeks (second in the NFL). Walker III led all rookie runners in attempts (228), yards (1,050) and rushing touchdowns (9).
In 2021, he helped guide Seattle's running game to the third best mark in the NFL in rushing yards per attempt (5.02). The Seahawks ground attack finished strong as RB Rashaad Penny led the NFL with 671 yards rushing over the final five games of the season to go along with six touchdowns. Under Dickerson's guidance, T Duane Brown was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2017.
Prior to his stint in Seattle, Dickerson was the assistant offensive line coach for the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams from 2012-20.
In 2020, the Rams offensive line allowed the sixth-fewest sacks (25) in the NFL. The offensive line paved the way for rookie RB Cam Akers to record 145 carries for 625 yards and two touchdowns, including a 171-yard performance that was the second-most by a Rams running back in franchise history.
In 2019, the offensive line was forced to make adjustments throughout the season due to injury. Despite losing two starters, the unit went on to not allow a sack in a franchise-best six games while also allowing the fewest sacks in the league (22).
In 2018, Dickerson assisted a Rams' offensive line that saw the same starting five for all 16 games and three postseason games during Los Angeles' run to Super Bowl LIII. QB Jared Goff was provided time to throw for career highs in yards (4,688), touchdowns (32) and passer rating (101.1) for the No. 2 ranked offense in the league. For the second consecutive season, the Rams' O-line also ranked in the top 10 for fewest sacks allowed.
In 2017, the offensive line paved the way for one of the biggest offensive turnarounds in NFL history, helping the team improve from the 32nd-ranked scoring offense in 2016 to the league's top-scoring team the following year. RB Todd Gurley II to lead the league in total touchdowns (19) and scrimmage yards (2,093) en route to earning AP Offensive Player of the Year accolades.
Dickerson helped coach an offensive line that protected QB Case Keenum, who set career-highs in attempts, completions, completion percentage, passing yards and passing touchdowns in 2016.
For the third-consecutive year, the Rams boasted one of the NFL's top rookie runners in 2015. The Rams offensive line blocked for Offensive Rookie of the Year and rookie Pro Bowler Gurley to rush for 1,106 yards, which placed him third in the NFL in rushing yards. The Rams finished seventh in the NFL in rushing offense and allowed the fewest sacks in the league (18).
In 2014, St. Louis averaged 102.2 rushing yards per game, while RB Tre Mason finished second among all rookies and led the Rams with 765 rushing yards in 2015.
In 2013, Dickerson assisted an offensive line that allowed only 36 sacks, the eighth lowest total in the NFL. The offense registered their highest scoring average (21.8) since 2006 and were led by RB Zac Stacy who rushed for 973 yards, third-most by a rookie in team history.
In his first season with the Rams, Dickerson helped guide an offensive line that allowed just 35 sacks after giving up 55 the previous year.
Dickerson spent the 2011 season with the New York Jets as a coaching assistant, his second stint with the club after previously working with New York in a defensive quality control/coaching assistant capacity from 2006-08.
He also spent two years with the Cleveland Browns, serving as assistant offensive line coach in 2010 and defensive quality control in 2009.
Dickerson first entered the league with the New England Patriots as an operations assistant/intern over the 2004-05 seasons.
He spent the summer of 2003 as a Washington Commanders training camp intern before joining the offensive staff at Tufts University as a graduate assistant.
PERSONAL: A native of Wilmington, Del., Dickerson was a two-sport athlete at Tufts, playing football and track & field, performing in the shot put, discus and hammer throw.
