Biography

Matt Hand enters his 18th NFL season and fifth as a Raiders Area Scout. He is responsible for the West Region after previously having covered the Midlands and East Coast regions in his previous seasons.  

Prior to his time with the Silver and Black, Hand worked as the director of player personnel for the AAF's Salt Lake Stallions in 2018-2019. He was the Buffalo Bills' west region area scout from 2011-17, mid-south/ midlands region area scout from 2010-11, BLESTO scout Atlantic/mid-south region from 2007-10, college scouting administrator from 2005-07 and training camp operations Intern in 2004. He was a graduate assistant at Southern Mississippi from 2004-05 and a scouting assistant at Southern Miss from 2002-04. 

A native of Chelsea, Mich., Hand graduated from University of Southern Mississippi with a master's degree in science, while also earning his bachelor's degree in science. Hand also holds an associate degree in arts from Grand Rapids C.C. He resides in Arizona.
