Walt King

Coordinator, Player Personnel Research and Strategy

Biography

Walt King enters his fifth season with the Raiders and his first as Coordinator, Player Personnel Research and Strategy. He spent the previous four seasons in Football Research & Development after three seasons with the Los Angeles Angels. In his current role, King coordinates, conducts, and implements player personnel research into roster construction strategy and decision-making and provides insights and cross-checks on existing scouting processes. He is responsible for the development and implementation of player tracking metrics and predictive player evaluation models and has served as both a judge and mentor for the Big Data Bowl. 

A native of Berea, Ohio, King earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Ohio State in 2016. He presented undergraduate research at the 2016 M.I.T. Sloan Sports Analytics Conference. He is the son of Matt and Amy and he and his wife, Kyah, live in Henderson, Nev., with their pets Hank and Peggy.
