Biography

Kirk Cousins enters his 15th season in the NFL and joins the Raiders after spending the past two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (2024-25). He originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick by Washington in the 2012 draft and spent six years with the club (2012-17) before signing with the Minnesota Vikings for six seasons (2018-23).

A four-time Pro Bowl selection (2016, 2019, 2021-22), Cousins has appeared in 174 games with 167 starts and completed 3,934-of-5,899 passes for 44,700 yards with 298 touchdowns, 131 interceptions, and a 96.8 passer rating over his career. His 44,700 passing yards currently rank 18th-most in NFL history and his 298 touchdown passes rank 14th-most in NFL history.

During his time in Atlanta, Cousins played in 24 games and passed for 5,229 yards with 28 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. In his first season with the Falcons, he set the franchise record for passing yards in a single game, throwing for 509 yards and four touchdowns against Tampa Bay in Week 5 of the 2024 season.

Over his six seasons in Minnesota, Cousins earned three Pro Bowl selections and registered a 50-37-1 regular season record as a starter and a 1-2 postseason record. He threw for 23,265 yards and posted a 171-55 TD-INT ratio along with a 101.2 passer rating in his time with the Vikings. Cousins recorded four seasons with over 4,000 passing yards and owns three of the top five passing seasons in Vikings franchise history. He also recorded more than 30 touchdown passes in three different seasons (30 in 2018, 35 in 2020, and 33 in 2021).

Cousins set several passing records during his time with Washington (2012–2017), including single-season records for passing yards (4,917 in 2016), completions (406 in 2016), and attempts (606 in 2016). He was the first Washington quarterback to throw for over 4,000 yards in consecutive seasons (2015-2016).

A native of Holland, Mich., Cousins played collegiately at Michigan State from 2007-11, where he was a three-time team captain and finished his career as the program's all-time record holder in passing touchdowns (66), passing yards (9,131) and completions (723).
