Bridgestone Elite Performance Moment Of The Week: Regular Season Week 14

Posted Dec 12, 2017

Jared Cook's fourth quarter touchdown is this week's Bridgestone Elite Performance Moment of the Week.

Safe to say that Jared Cook has made a strong impression on the 2017 Oakland Raiders.

Not only are his 48 receptions just one off from the team lead – Michael Crabtree has 49 – but Cook’s 621 receiving yards leads all Raiders through 14 weeks.

The veteran tight end has been a consistence presence for Derek Carr and the Silver and Black’s offense all season, and Sunday was no exception to that rule.

Although the Raiders eventually fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 26-15, Cook put together another impressive day at the office, finishing his afternoon with five catches for a team-high seventy five yards, and one touchdown.

That fourth quarter score – the Raiders second of the day – was not only Cook’s second touchdown of 2017, but it also kept the Raiders hopes of a comeback alive.

“It was kind of a double move,” said Cook when asked about his touchdown. “The safety bit up. The outside linebacker bit up as well, and there was nobody on the back side so I just hit the open field. Derek hit me, and I just found my way to the end zone.”

While Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium didn’t quite go as planned, Cook’s performance was a bright spot on an otherwise dark afternoon, so for this reason, it is this week’s Elite Performance Moment of the Week, presented by Bridgestone.
