CA School For The Deaf's Warren Keller Named Oakland Raiders High School "Coach Of The Year"

Warren Keller, from CA School for the Deaf, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Year."

Week 10/Coach of the Year

Warren Keller, from the California School for the Deaf in Fremont, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Year”. The Eagles finished the year with a record of 11-2 and continue to impress the Bay Area High School Football world. Coaching at the CA School for the Deaf since 2012, Coach Keller creates a bond with his players that extends beyond the football field. The Eagles’ improved their 2015 record of 5-5 to 11-2 in 2016 and defeated Clear Lake High School in the first round of the playoffs.


Week 9

Ricky Rodriguez, from Encinal High School in Alameda, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week”. The Jets defeated the San Lorenzo Rebels in dominant fashion with a final score of 51-0. It was a perfectly executed game on offense and defense and Encinal High continues with their winning ways. The Jets move to 8-2 on the year and are 4-1 in league play. They now will face Petaluma High School in the first week of the playoffs.


Week 8

Dave Damewood, from John F. Kennedy High School in Fremont, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week”. The Titans defeated the Huskies from crosstown rival Washington High with a final score of 28-14. Moving into the 4th quarter with a tie score, Kennedy High scored two touchdowns to put the game out of reach. The Titans are still undefeated at 9-0 and will move on to face Irvington High School this week before the start of the playoffs.


Week 7

Brad Bowers, from San Leandro High School, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week.” The San Leandro Pirates pulled out the victory over Berkeley High School with a final score of 46-36. San Leandro High ran wild with their senior running back accounting for over 240 yards rushing and 3 rushing touchdowns. The Pirates sit atop their league along with Bishop O’Dowd with a league record of 3-0.


Week 6

Joe Bautista, from College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week”. The Falcons defeated the Red Devils of Mt. Diablo High School in a high scoring affair with a final score of 40-32. College Park has gotten off to a great start with a record of 5-2 and will move on to face Ygnacio Valley High School this week.


Week 5

Virdell Larkins, from Oakland Tech High School, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week”. The Bulldogs defeated Oakland’s own Skyline High School with a final score of 20-6. Oakland Tech has started conference play with victories over both Skyline High School and Castlemont High School and face a tough opponent this Friday against Oakland High.


Week 4

Tyree Reed, from De Anza High School in Richmond, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week”. The Dons defeated the Warriors of Swett High School in a defensive battle with a final score of 9-8. De Anza High School has gotten off to a great start with a record of 4-2 and will head into conference play against Albany High School this week.


Week 3

Terry Hendrix, from Fremont High School in Oakland, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week”. The Tigers defeated the Ygnacio Valley Warriors with a 4th quarter touchdown to finish the late game comeback. With a final score of 14-12, the Tigers will head into next week’s matchup against Madison park Academy with their heads held high. Fremont High has gotten off to a tremendous start under Coach Hendrix with an early season record of 3-1.


Week 2

Paul Perenon, from Mt. Eden High School in Hayward, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week”. The Monarchs defeated the Bulldogs of Oakland Tech in dominating fashion with a final score of 46-26. The Mt. Eden offense was on fire scoring 7 total touchdowns which was more than enough to topple Oakland Tech. The Mt. Eden football team has started the season with a 3-1 record.


Week 1

Justin Redemer, from Hayward High School, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week.” The Hayward High Farmers defeated Pinole Valley High School 16-12 last week with a defensive stand in the final minutes to put the finishing touches on their 4th Quarter comeback. Hayward High School has started the season with a 2-1 record.
