2012: Played in his first seven NFL games, primarily on special teams…Caught two passes for 11 yards (5.5 avg.) and added two coverage tackles…(9/5) at NYG: Made his NFL debut in the league’s Wednesday-night opener; on the opening kickoff, made the season’s first tackle, dropping David Wilson at his own 16, setting the tone for a 24-17 Cowboys win…(10/1) vs. Chi.: Made his first NFL reception, converting a third down with a 7-yard reception from Kyle Orton on a late touchdown drive…(10/14) at Bal.: With 30 seconds left and Dallas trailing 31-29, recovered his team’s onside kick at the Cowboys’ 46-yard line, just before a missed 51-yard field goal…Waived Nov. 24, returned three days later to team’s practice squad, where he finished the season.
2011: Spent the final four weeks of his rookie season on the Cowboys’ 53-man roster, but did not play…Inactive all four games, the last three due to a hamstring, strained at practice preparing for the team’s Week 15 contest…Initially signed with Cowboys Sept. 5, one week after his release from the Vikings, where he’d spent training camp…Entered the NFL with Minnesota as a non-drafted free agent.
COLLEGE: A three-year starter and four-year letterman at Division II Hillsdale College, about an hour southwest of Ann Arbor, Mich., garnered first-team all-conference honors three consecutive years…An All-American as a 2010 senior, turned in the most productive receiving season in the program’s 119-year football history, with single-season school records in both receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,368), averaging 114.0 per game…Started all 12 games and helped lead his team to the first round of the NCAA playoffs and in his college swan song recorded a Hillsdale-record 16 catches, for 208 yards and two TDs, in a loss to St. Cloud State…As a 2009 junior, had 1,076 yards on 77 receptions, thanks in part to the pass protection of teammate Jared Veldheer…Became a starter as a sophomore after playing in all 11 games as a redshirt freshman...Also lettered in track and won the outdoor triple jump at the 2007 Greater Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships…Earned his degree in physical education.
