Marine Corps Sergeants Aaron Stringer and Jose Banda were selected as the GovX Heroes of the Game for the Raiders match-up with the San Diego Chargers in Week 5. Both Stringer and Banda are currently recruiters. Stringer is a heavy equipment mechanic and Banda is  an aviation electronics technician for Huey and Cobra helicopters.

Stringer was excited to be selected as one of the Heroes of the Game and participate in the coin toss. "It means a lot to me; it's quite an honor," said Stringer. "I'm a huge Raider fan so it's a dream come true to be able to go out here and do the coin toss."

Banda looked forward to stepping out on the field with the captains. "I'm really thankful for it," said Banda. "I've never done anything like this before so it's definitely a great opportunity."

With the kickoff between the Raiders and Chargers moved to 8:35 p.m. PT, the two Marines were able to experience Raiders football under the lights. "Growing up playing football, I know what it's like to be out on the field with all the lights on," said Stringer. "Definitely being here at O.co Coliseum it's a different experience and definitely able to feel the energy."

GovX and the Raiders honor members of the military during every home game. "It's definitely something we're thankful for," said Banda on the acknowledgement of the military during Raiders games. "Whether it's the Marine Corps or any type of military branch, it's definitely good."
