The Oakland Raiders salute the Latin-American countries that are celebrating their independence festivities during Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins on September 15, and lasts through October. Congratulations to El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, México, Chile, Belize and Puerto Rico!
To honor Hispanic Heritage Month, the Raiders are dedicating their September 27 game against the Broncos to all Latinos who are celebrating their country's independence. The 'Fiesta Latina' game will feature vivid half-time entertainment, in-stadium Latin music and the passion of Raiders football.
The following countries are celebrating their independence today on September 15: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
The Mexican patriotic festivities begin September 16 with the famous 'Grito de la Independencia.' Chile will start celebrating on September 18, while Belize does it on September 21. Puerto Rico's Independence Day is September 23.
Columbus Day is October 12, and it celebrates the mixture of Latin-American culture with the influential touch from Spain.
