The Oakland Raiders brought in Marshawn Lynch to set the tone, and close, and he did both those things Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The powerful running back carried the ball 14 times in the Raiders 27-24 win, finishing his outing with two touchdowns, a team-high 57 rushing yards, as well as the delivery of the proverbial nail in the coffin for the Miami Dolphins.
With 7:21 left in the fourth quarter, and the Silver and Black holding onto a four-point lead, Carr led the Raiders offense down the field, and when the group got down near the goal line, Lynch went to work, rumbling in from three yards to extend the Raiders lead to ten points with 4:37 left in regulation.
Giorgio Tavecchio added the PAT, giving the team a 27-16 lead, and while the Dolphins did make it interesting at the end, Lynch's second touchdown of the evening proved to be the difference In the Week 9 contest.
"We wanted to run the ball," said Head Coach Jack Del Rio postgame. "We wanted to be able to run the ball. Still not quite what we'd like to have, but it was good to see some moments where it came together the way we're wanting to see it done."
Lynch was a force to be reckoned with all evening, and while he ran strong all night, his fourth quarter touchdown was likely the most important score of the night; it's also this week's Elite Performance Moment of the Week, presented by Bridgestone.
