The Raiders fall to the Broncos by a score of 6-24, finishing second in the AFC West with a record of 12-4 in the regular season.
Oakland enters the playoffs as the No. 5 seed in the AFC and will play the Texans in Houston in the Wild Card Round.
The loss brings the all-time series record to 61-50-2 in favor of the Raiders.
Game Themes
The Raiders finish the regular season having recorded the fewest turnovers in franchise history with 13, besting their previous record of 19, set in 2002.
QBs Matt McGloin and Connor Cooktotaled a combined 164 yards through the air to give the Raiders 4,130 passing yards on the season. It marks the second time in franchise history the team has recorded back-to-back 4,000-yard passing seasons.
QB Matt McGloin
QB Matt McGloin got his first start since Nov. 17, 2013, where he lead the team to a 28-23 victory in Houston.
McGloin, who left the game with an injury late in the first half, finished the day completing 6-of-11 passes for 21 yards with a 12-yard long.
QB Connor Cook
Being active for the first time all season, QB Connor Cook entered late in the second quarter when QB Matt McGloin left with an injury. On Cook's first play he completed his first attempt, a 5-yard pass to WR Amari Cooper.
Cook orchestrated his first career scoring drive late in the third quarter, a three-play, 63-yard drive lasting 1:29 which culminated in a 32-yard touchdown pass to Cooper. Cook's first career touchdown pass cut the Broncos' lead to 24-6.
Cook finished his first game completing 14-of-21 attempts for 150 yards with one touchdown and one interception for a passer rating of 83.4.
WR Amari Cooper
WR Amari Cooperrecorded the Raiders first score of the game, hauling in a 32-yard touchdown pass from QB Connor Cook with 3:19 left in the third quarter.
Cooper's touchdown reception, his fifth of the season, improves his franchise-record to 15 receptions of at least 25 yards.
Cooper finished the day with four receptions for 39 yards (9.8 avg.) with one touchdown.
WR Michael Crabtree
With his first reception of the game, a 5-yard grab, WR Michael Crabtreebecame the third Raider with multiple 85-catch seasons, joining Tim Brown (6) and Todd Christensen (2).
Crabtree finishes the regular season with team-high 89 receptions, becoming the first player to lead the team in receptions in back-to-back seasons since Zach Miller did so from 2008-2010.
Crabtree, who needed just 44 yards entering today's game, eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards on the year* *for the first time since 2012 on a 9-yard catch in the fourth quarter bringing his season total to 1,003.
Having surpassed 1,000 yards, Crabtree and WR Amari Cooper became the first Raiders' receiving duo to both record at least 1,000 yards in the same season since Jerry Rice and Tim Brown did so in 2001.
Crabtree ended the day with five receptions for 47 yards (9.4 avg.).
S Brynden Trawick
With S Karl Josephinactive and an early injury to S Nate Allen, S Brynden Trawickwas forced into the safety role and recorded his first career interception on the following play from scrimmage after the Raiders' first score of the game. The takeaway was the first of the game for the Silver and Black.
Trawick finished with nine tackles (five solo), one interception and one pass defensed.
DE Khalil Mack
DE Khalil Mack started his 16th game this season to make him just the fifth Raider to have 48 starts through his first three seasons. The last Raider to start every game in his first three seasons was Charles Woodson from 1998-2000.
Mack finished third on the team with five tackles (five solo), three tackles for loss and one quarterback hit.
LB Bruce Irvin
With 3:21 left in the first half, LB Bruce Irvinknocked the ball out of Justin Forsett's possession, marking his sixth forced fumble of the year to extend his career best.
Irvin tied a franchise record with his sixth forced fumble of the season.
Irvin totaled five tackles (three solo), one forced fumble, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hits.
P Marquette King
P Marquette King placed three punts inside the 20-yard line in the first half of play. His third punt of the day his AFC-leading 33rd punt of 50 yards or more.
King pinned the Broncos inside the 20-yard line two more times in the second half of the game, bringing his total to five.
King recorded 452 yards to surpass 3,500 yards on the season for the fourth time in his career. His four seasons of at least 3,500 yards is tied for the second most by a Raider with Ray Guy.
King punted eight times for 452 yards (56.6 avg.), placing five punts inside the 20 with two touchbacks.
