The Oakland Raiders will play a challenging preseason slate that features back-to-back road games against two NFC playoff teams, including the team that lost in the NFC title game.

  1. The Raiders open the preseason at the Arizona Cardinals, who lost to the Carolina Panthers in the 2015 NFC Championship game. The Silver and Black will have to contend with ex-Raiders including quarterback Carson Palmer, tackle Jared Veldheer, and free agent acquisition safety Tyvon Branch.
  1. The team from the East Bay will travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers at Lambeau Field for the second time in three years. The Packers earned a Wild Card playoff berth last year. They defeated the Washington Redskins in the Wild Card but lost to the Cardinals in the Divisional round.
  1. The Raiders will host the Tennessee Titans in a nationally televised game on CBS. This marks the third year in a row the Raiders will be featured on national TV during the preseason. The Raiders also take on the Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville during the regular season. The Silver and Black defeated the Titans in Nashville last season in a thriller. Unless Tennessee trades down, the Raiders will face the No. 1 pick in the draft on the same team, respectively, two years in a row – quarterback Marcus Mariota and this year's top pick.

The last time the two teams met in Oakland in the preseason, the Raiders won 41-31 in 2014, and Derek Carr solidified himself as the Silver and Black's starting quarterback with a dazzling performance (11-of-13 for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns).
  1. Last year, backup quarterback Matt McGloin threw for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns in the preseason finale, a 10-point loss to the Seahawks in Seattle, and wide receiver Seth Roberts put on a show with 7 grabs for 110 yards and a score.
  1. Seattle's assistant head coach/offensive line coach Tom Cable was an assistant coach and served as head coach for the Raiders. Special teams coordinator Brian Schneider spent two seasons with the Raiders in the same capacity.
  1. Former Raiders assistant coaches Bob Sanders and Kevin Ross are now on staff with the Cardinals. Raiders wide receivers coach Rob Moore played for the Cardinals and served as actor Cuba Gooding, Jr.'s body-double as wide receiver Rod Tidwell in the 1996 hit movie Jerry Maguire.
  1. Titans Offensive Coordinator Terry Robiskie played for (1977-79) and was an assistant coach with the Raiders. Special Teams Coordinator Bobby April served in the same job for the Raiders, and assistant special teams coach Steve Hoffman spent a year with the Raiders as special teams coach.
  1. Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie spent 17 years in the Player Personnel department for the Green Bay Packers.
  1. Associate head coach/linebackers coach Winston Moss played linebacker for the Raiders (1991-94). Safeties coach Darren Perry spent two years as the Raiders defensive backs coach (2007-08).
  1. Former Seahawks defensive coordinator Ken Norton, Jr., and linebackers Malcolm Smith and Bruce Irvin are now with the Raiders. Former Cardinals defensive tackle Dan Williams is heading into his second season in Oakland.
