Unique times prompt unique gestures, and Raiders GM Mike Mayock just announces one special, unique gesture.
During Tuesday's conference call with the media, Mayock led with the news that he and his family will be making a $1,000 donation to Delivering With Dignity, a Clark County program that aims to bring food to those who may be affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
The Raiders currently have seven 2020 draft picks, and Mayock said that if the Raiders trade up — i.e. lose an overall total number of picks — they will maintain a minimum donation of $7,000. On the other hand, if the Raiders trade down and accrue more picks, they will honor the $1,000 per each extra pick.
In a fun twist, the donations will be made in the names of each of the newly selected Raiders.
Mayock isn't the only one in Silver and Black that has used their platform to help. Alec Ingold and a group of his fellow second-year Raiders have also announced plans to help.
