On how to explain the 55 points: "I think you explain it because we had too many mental errors on defense, gave up too many big plays. We turned the ball over too many times and we didn't execute on special teams. When you do those things, it generally results in something like that."
On Ravens ability to take advantage of the middle of the field: "We had a couple of opportunities where we made some mistakes and we weren't in the right position and when you play good teams and you don't execute right, they take advantage of it. That's what happened today."
On if after giving up 42 and then 55 points, he thinks changes need to be made: "We obviously have to look at the whole thing because the outcome like that is unacceptable. We have to do better. We have to look at that and see what can we do to give ourselves a better chance?"
On scoring a touchdown within two minutes, but then giving up points right back: "Very disappointing. Very disappointing. Again, we had an opportunity where we just kind of got loose and we can't do that. We have to better than that."
On the fake field goal with score 41-17: "Listen, it's our job to go out there and stop them."
On going for it on 4th down on first series: "Yeah, I felt confidence in the fact that we'd moved the ball there in that first drive and I knew against this team that we were going to need to steal a possession somewhere down the line. The quarterback got stepped on and we didn't get the play like we needed to. But that was just one play in a game."
On the effort of the players: "I think before we really comment on that we need to look at the tape and see where we were at. Obviously, early in the game, it had a lot more to do with our execution than anything else."
On the message at halftime: "Well, the message was to do your job and we came out in the third quarter and we had a communication error and gave up a touchdown play early in the third quarter. At the end of the day, it's my job to make sure this team is ready to play. It's my job to make sure that we execute our jobs on the football field. We didn't do that today. That ultimately lies with me and I've got to do a better job of getting our team ready to play."
On if he was pleased with anything: "Well I'd have to look long and hard about things that pleased me. When you lose a game like that there's not a lot of positives. I thought there's some things that we did well, but really, when you really look at it, we weren't good enough."
On Taiwan Jones only having three touches: "Hey listen, Taiwan has had a lot of injuries this year and had some ball-security issues. We have to know that when he goes in the game, he's going to know what to do and he's going to be able to protect the football and he's going to be able to stay healthy. Those are thing that we're looking at and as he proves he can do those things, he'll get more playing time."
On Travis Goethel: "He's got a knee. It looks to be pretty significant, but we'll wait, do an MRI tomorrow and see how that is."
On injuries: "Michael Huff had a calf. He got kicked in the calf. I'm not sure exactly how he is. We had two concussions with Matt Giordano and Brandon Myers."
On if there are scheme changes on defense: "We're going to look at anything we can do to be better. At the end of the day, we can't have the mental mistakes. So we have to look at why are we having those mental mistakes and whatever we have to do to try to get that corrected we've got to do."
On if the fake field goal surprised him: "No, nothing surprises in a game. Our job is to stop them and we have to stop them."
QB Carson Palmer
On the game: "That was a rough, rough game. We didn't play well in any facet of the game. We got beat by a very good team in a tough environment. It will be hard, but we have to put this behind us. We have New Orleans next week, and they are playing better."
On his 4th down fumble in 1st quarter: "That didn't really hurt our momentum. It was only one play. Something like that, so early in the game, has very little impact. We just couldn't overcome our mistakes."
On the mood on the sideline: "For most of the game, we felt like we were in it, but things came apart in the third quarter. They kept scoring, and we couldn't keep up. With all the penalties and mental errors we had, there's no way we're going to beat a playoff team on their field."
On the Raiders having more offensive yards than the Ravens: "That doesn't mean anything. We had too many big errors. An interception, fumbled snap and special teams breakdowns. They out-executed us in every phase of the game. At the end, I was just chucking the ball up there because their defensive backs were playing so deep. The Ravens are a good team with a great running back, and we knew this was going to be a tough challenge."
On the fake field goal: "That didn't bother me at all. They're trying to win a game, and we're trying to stop them. This is a classy organization, and they would never do anything like that to embarrass another team. I've played them a lot over the years, and I have a lot of respect for those guys."
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
On his touchdown: "They were in a cover-four and we had a little end route. [QB] Carson [Palmer] threw it on faith because we had been working on that – just to be there at the same time. I saw [S] Ed Reed coming down, so I kind of protected myself, and I felt like I didn't go down so I just went for the end zone."
On the offense: "Of course we have to execute better. We've got to start the game off a lot faster. At the end of the game we have to run the ball a little bit better. But we didn't get a win so it really doesn't matter."
On the game plan: "The game plan is to get first downs so whatever way we can do that, that's the way we're going to do it."
On mental mistakes: "We've just got to execute early in the game. We've got to be on top of our stuff. We've got to get first downs early. We can't put the whole team in a bind."
On the touchdown throw: "Carson [Palmer] threw a faith throw. I was at the right place at the right time. Timing is all there. I protected myself from the hit, and I made a play."
On scoring at the end of the first half but then letting it get away at the beginning of the third quarter: "That's just the way it's been working for us. We go to work every day, trying to get better in every area. Right now, it's just not happening. The plan is always to try to fix that. We got a touchdown, and then we muffed a punt right after that. You know, it's deflating, but you have to keep on fighting. No matter what the score is, you have to go out there and make plays."
WR Denarius Moore
On the offense's play: "We had some mental errors, a couple of mistakes, but it's something that we put upon ourselves. It's not something that we can't change--it's something that we can work on."
On QB Carson Palmer: "He's looking for the open man. It's not one single person he's looking for. He's going to spread the ball out across the field."
On the passing offense's ability to go deep: "There were some plays where it was open and there were some plays where it wasn't. It was just him [QB Carson Palmer] reading his reads and hitting the right person."
LB Miles Burris
On their defensive game plan and their execution: "For me as a rookie, I understand what we are doing. A lot of times, it's pretty similar stuff and same calls with the emphasis on execution. And we obviously didn't go out there and do that today. But, we have to learn from this and bounce back."
On if the Ravens offense did anything they had not seen on film: "Not from my perspective, no. It was just a matter of not executing."
On bouncing back and moving forward: "Obviously, we have to get in there tomorrow and see the film, and see exactly what broke down, what we need to fix, and take it from there. We have to fix whatever is going on, and have a pride about us. Everyone has to look in the mirror and man up about what they need to fix and get right."
DT Tommy Kelly
On the mental errors: "You've got to look at the film. The coaches have to make their assessment. All I can do is kind of time it. I don't know what's going on behind me. The coaches are going to look at the film, they're going to make the corrections, and we're just going to go from there."
On last week not being able to stop the run and this week doing better against the run: "It's like a dam right now. You put your finger in one hole and three or four more holes pop up. We've just got to get back in the lab, get back to the fundamentals. This is the NFL. Sometimes the other team is just going to make a play. [You have to] forget it and go on to the next play. All that matters is the final score. No matter how you get to it, just the final score [matters]."
On the field goal fake: "We're paid to stop them and they're paid to score. And the coach chose to run that stuff, and he ran it, and we have to stop it. It's as simple as that. We messed up, but at the same time, we've got to stop it. When you're up thirty-something in the third quarter, would you fake a field goal? But at the end of the day we've got to stop it. That's all that matters. Even if you do run it, we've got to stop it."
DT Desmond Bryant
On the game: "First of all, you've got to give respect to Baltimore; I think they played really well. But, we just didn't execute, we made too many mistakes. We wanted to come out and play our best game, we didn't. We could've done some things to stop them, but we weren't able to. And I really can't put my finger on one thing."
On whether the Raiders planned to stop the running game: "They made a lot of plays against us, running and passing. They made plays on offense, defense and special teams. So, there were things we could have done, but we didn't. They started off well and we responded for a while. But, we just couldn't stay with them."
DE Matt Shaughnessy
On the game: "Mistakes killed us today. We made physical mistakes and mental mistakes. When you give a good team that many opportunities, it's going to be a long day."
On the mood of the team: "We don't quit, if that's what you're asking. This team is together, and we will correct things and move forward. Crap like that doesn't happen here."
DB Michael Huff
On the game: "We stopped the run for the most part. I think today the back end didn't communicate as much as they should have. There were a lot of blown assignments. A lot things like that, as far as communication errors. I give them that they made the plays, but a lot of that was communication on the back end between the linebackers and safeties, and we have to get that fixed."
On the digression in terms of points against in the last two games: "When we play our defense, we're good in spurts. When we're bad, we're bad. Like right now, it's either we're all good or all bad. We're trying to figure out consistency, and being that consistent defense, week-in and week-out. And not being good for a drive and then terrible the next. The main thing is just being on the same page and being consistent."
On if he has an issue with the fake field goal touchdown: "Oh no, that's football. We're all grown men. Obviously, if we didn't like it, we have to stop it. I don't look at it like that."
On if they were caught off guard with all the tight end plays with the Ravens: "No, coming in we knew they had two great tight ends as weapons. We just didn't communicate on the back end."
On the team morale: "Really, there's no excuses. They came out and were ready to play. They punched us in the mouth and we weren't ready to play."
S Tyvon Branch
On the defense: "We have to go back and watch film and correct our mistakes. We had too many mental errors today."
On grading the secondary's play: "Terrible. However you would grade that, we didn't play well today. We didn't play well enough to win. They put up a lot of points on us."
On the last two consecutive losing games: "We've got to find a way to get out of it. It's the National Football League. If you go out there and make mistakes…these guys are too good nowadays to [to afford to] make mistakes."
On next week's game against New Orleans: "We're going to look at film and see what we have to correct."
