Small Act By Raiders Quarterback Derek Carr Pays Big Dividends For Students At Local High School

Quarterback Derek Carr

The seniors at Redwood High School didn't want jerseys, or signed footballs, or even a video message.

Nope, these kids wanted something much smaller – but in their eyes equally as important – they just wanted a retweet from the Oakland Raiders starting quarterback, Derek Carr.

If Carr delivered, the group of students would all get an A on their class final, something which at this point in the school year is probably even more valuable than an autograph or two.

Jesus Gallardo (jgallardo_15) posted the tweet the morning of May 30 with his request, showing the gentlemen's agreement that was in place.

Well, less than 24 hours later, Carr responded, quoting the original tweet with the text "Hope it's not too late!"

Turns out it wasn't too late, and because of Carr's simple act, there are a lot of happy students at Redwood High School this morning.

Bravo, "DC," and good luck to the folks over at Redwood High on the rest of their finals.
