Q: Welcome back.
Jones: It's good to be back.
Q: Tell us a little about the first day of literally having both sides, the rookies and the vets, out on the field together.
Jones: It was pretty fun today. I was excited with the new position change. Lately, I've just been looking at the book work and watching film, but it was good to go out there and have live receivers running at you.
Q: Do you feel like you're starting over, in a sense?
Jones: I do. When I first came out, things were going pretty fast for me, but towards the end, I started to feel comfortable as I started seeing more plays and getting more reps.
Q: The amount of tackles you made on special teams last year, I remember asking Dennis Allen towards the end of the year if he thought about you on defense, and he said, 'yeah, I kind of have.' When actually did they come to you? And when did the position switch take place?
Jones: During the off-season, DA, he called me and he asked me how would I feel about making the change to defense. I told him, at first I thought I'd be upset because I couldn't show everybody what kind of running back I can be, but really, my mindset is, whatever I can do to help the team. I'm a competitor and I like to compete and I'm just glad I'm on the team. I'm going to work hard wherever he needs me.
Q: I know you played some corner in high school, but it's been a few years since high school and you're making the transition from running back to corner. How has that process been?
Jones: It's coming along. Today was the first day that I was able to learn some things about myself. Like I said, I started to get a little comfortable throughout the day. I definitely have a lot more work to do. I'm excited about it and it's been fun so far.
Q: When it was first mentioned and tossed around the idea of maybe playing some corner again and you said, 'yeah, I'd totally be up for that,' are you surprised from that moment to now that it actually happened?
Jones: Yeah, I am. But, like I said, as far as my career, it will probably be a good move. I feel like I'll last longer health-wise there and I can help the team out more there. Like I said, whatever the team needs me to do, I'm ready to do it.
