2022 Girls Flag Football Winners
Shadow Ridge High School Coach Matt Nighswonger
The Las Vegas Raiders named Coach Matt Nighswonger from Shadow Ridge High School the 2022 Tom Flores Coach of the Year. Coach Nighswonger led the Mustangs to a 24-3 regular season record a 5A State Championship. Under Coach Nighswonger, the Mustangs have won back-to-back 5A state championships. The Raiders surprised Coach Nighswonger and the team with the award at Allegiant Stadium accompanied by Raiders and Shadow Ridge Alumni Korey Toomer and Raiderettes.
This week's Tom Flores Coach of the Week recipient is Coach Kevin Davis from Legacy High School. Coach Davis led the Longhorns to a State Championship run with playoff wins Arbor View, and Centennial High School. Player of the Week, Mailaya Taylor, rushed for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns throughout the playoffs.
Del Sol Academy Coach Stephen Topper
The Las Vegas Raiders named Coach Stephen Topper from Del Sol High School the Tom Flores Coach of the Week.
Centennial High School Coach Stan Standifer
The Las Vegas Raiders named Coach Stan Standifer from Centennial High School the Tom Flores Coach of the Week and Sr. Quarterback Camella Korte was named player of the week.
The Las Vegas Raiders named Coach Todd Thompson from Desert Oasis High School the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week and Victoria Poon as player of the week.
The Las Vegas Raiders named Ken Ward from Basic High School the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week. Coach Ward has led his team to an undefeated week with a 53-8 victory over Somerset Sky Point, a 61-0 win over Valley and a 40-0 win over Canyon Springs.
Emily Shapiro has been named Player of the Week. Last week in three games she had 18 catches, 405 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Coach Rick Eurich of Palo Verde High School was named coach of the week after leading his team to a 14-1 start and securing a victory in the Shadow Ridge Holiday Tournament. His staff selected Tia Brown as Player of the Week for her performance in the tournament:
The Las Vegas Raiders this week named William Brownell from Mater Academy East the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week. In the first year of the program, Coach led the team to their first two victories against Doral Academy Red Rock 19-0 and Western, 6-0.
Coach selected Jasmine White as the player of the week. Jasmine returned from injury and scored on a 70-yard pick-six and again on a 13-yard rush.
Sunrise Mountain High School Coach Michael Williams
The Las Vegas Raiders this week named Coach Michael Williams, from Sunrise Mountain High School, the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week. His team defeated Amplus Academy 29-19 and Eldorado 54-6, and Slam Academy for a 3-0 start to the season.
Coach selected Asia Johnson as the player of the week. Asia has 11 total TDs, and 585 total yards this season.
The Las Vegas Raiders this week named Lito Soifua, from Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week. His team defeated Amplus Academy 12-8 and Eldorado 28-7 in the season's opening week. This is Coach Soifua's first win as head coach of Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon. Last season, the team went 3-10. Coach selected Naliyah Sanders as player of the week.

This week's recipient is Coach Jeff Cahill from Basic High School. Coach Cahill led the Wolves to a 21-14 win against Clark in the regular season finale. Basic trailed by five points at halftime but didn't allow any points in the second half to earn a No. 2 playoff seed.
This week's recipient is Coach Garrett Hughes from Reed High School. Coach Hughes led the Raiders to a 28-25 win over rival Spanish Springs High School. Spencer F. scored three touchdowns and rushed for 254 yards helping the Raiders rally from a 10-7 deficit at halftime.
This week's recipient is Coach Darwin Peterson from Democracy Prep Academy. Coach Peterson led the Blue Knights to a 18-7 win over the previously unbeaten The Meadows High School. After falling behind 7-0 the Blue Knights scored 18 straight to hand the Mustangs their first defeat of the season. With the win, Democracy Prep is now in a three-way tie for first place in the standings.
This week's recipient is Coach Erick Capetillo from Las Vegas High School. Coach Capetillo led the Wildcats to a 14-0 win over Basic High School. The Las Vegas defense tallied their second straight shutout and the team has outscored their opponents 148-13 their last 4 games.
Coach Mauro led the Gators to a 24-10 win over Basic High School in the 30th renewal of the Henderson Bowl. The Gators defense came up with five interceptions to help seal the win.
The Las Vegas Raiders this week named Boulder City High School Head Coach Chris Morelli the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week after his team defeated Virgin Valley, 8-6, in the fifth week of the season. The Eagles held Virgin Valley out of the end zone on eight plays from inside the 5-yard line in the second half to hold on for the narrow victory on the road.'
This week's recipient is Coach Dan Barnson from Somerset Losee High School after his team defeated Mater East Academy 43-32 in the fourth week of the season. Somerset Losee was led by running back Malachi J., who rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown. This win marks the first win in program history for Dan Barnson and Somerset Losee.
This week's recipient is Coach Jesse Dailey from Western High School after his team defeated Pinecrest Academy Cadence 26-7 in the third week of the season. Western was led by quarterback Roberto Vargas, who threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more.
Coach Matt Gerber from Arbor View High School after his team defeated Shadow Ridge 38-6 in the second week of the season. Arbor View was led by running back Makhai D., who rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns.
Coach Quincy Burts, from Canyon Springs High School, was named the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week his team defeated Arcadia (Ca.) 18-14 in the opening week of the season. This is Coach Burts first win as head coach of Canyon Springs following his time previously at Valley High School.
Todd Thomson, from Desert Oasis High School, was named the recipient for the Tom Flores Coach of the Year award after Desert Oasis High School went 16-1 in the regular season, earning the number one seed in the Class 4A State Girls Flag Football Playoffs.
Michael Sandoz, from Rancho High School, was named the recipient for Week Five after his team defeated Sunrise Mountain High School, 30-0, and Doral Academy Red Rock, 52-0, last week.
Nathan Pangelinan, from Spring Valley High School, was named the recipient for Week Four after his team defeated Eldorado High School, and Durango High School, last week.

Anne Schlosser, from Del Sol Academy, was named the recipient for Week Three after her team defeated Desert Pines High School, 19-0, and Arbor View High School, 19-0 last week.

Matt Nighswonger, from Shadow Ridge High School, was named the recipient for Week Two after his team defeated Centennial High School, 33-0, Palo Verde High School, 34-20 and Green Valley High School, 18-13 last week.
Jerry Fewer, from Liberty High School, was named the recipient for Week One after his team defeated Clark High School, 19-7 and Shadow Ridge High School 39-19 last week.
