AFC West Update: Free Agents In The Division Set To Hit The Market

AFC-West-Update-Vol2-cp.jpg

Another NFL Combine in the books.

The 2018 Combine featured some of college football's top prospects, who showed out in front of all 32 teams in Indianapolis. While many of them impressed scouts and coaches from around the league, teams will need to wait until Draft Day in order to add them to the roster; however, free agency, and the start of the 2018 NFL league year, starts March 14th – right around the corner – and we could see a lot of new faces in new places.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the free agents from the AFC West.

The team has made it known they're in the market for a quarterback; whether they address that need in the draft or in free agency remains to be seen. The Broncos have also been rumored to be parting ways with Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib via trade, but here's who's set to hit the market.

Quarterback Brock Osweiler

Running back Jamaal Charles

Wide receiver Bennie Fowler*

Wide receiver Cody Latimer

Tight end Virgil Green

Tackle Donald Stephenson

Center Matt Paradis*

  • Paradis has served as the team's starting center the past three years, starting in all 48 games in during that span.

Defensive end Jared Crick

The Chiefs shipped quarterback Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins, and sent cornerback Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams. Aside from those moves, the team isn't likely to lose any game-changing players from their roster in free agency.

Wide receiver De'Anthony Thomas

Wide receiver Albert Wilson

Center Zach Fulton

Defensive end Rakeem Nunez-Roches*

Defensive tackle Bennie Logan

Linebacker Derrick Johnson

  • After 13 years with the team, it appears as though they'll be going their separate ways. Johnson totaled 14 interceptions, four touchdowns, 22 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, 77 passes defensed, 27.5 sacks, and 938 sacks with the Chiefs.

Linebacker Ramik Wilson*

Cornerback Terrance Mitchell

Punter Dustin Colquitt

It'd be hard to ever imagine Antonio Gates in any jersey other than a Chargers uniform, and at 37 years of age, his time on the field might be coming to a close. Gates' future is up in the air at the moment, but it'll be interesting to see if he returns to the team he's called home for 15 years.

Running back Branden Oliver

Wide receiver Tyrell Williams

Tight end Antonio Gates

  • No. 85 will go down as one of the best tight ends in NFL history, during his career with the Bolts he totaled 11,508 receiving yards, 114 touchdowns, and 1414 receptions.

Guard Michael Schofield

Guard Matt Slauson

Guard Kenny Wiggins

Linebacker Korey Toomer

Safety Tre Boston

Safety Adrian Philips*

Kicker Nick Novak
