GAME RECAP: Raiders 21 Steelers 18

The Steelers won the opening coin toss and deferred their choice to the second half. After a penalty on the kickoff return the Raiders started at the 7. QB Terrelle Pryor electrified the crowd with the longest run from scrimmage in Raiders history – 93 yards – for a TD. The Raiders took a 7-0 lead.

K Sebastian Janikowski's ensuing kickoff went for a touchback and the Steelers started at the 20. The Raiders held the Steelers to a three-and-out. WR Jacoby Ford returned the punt, fumbled and CB Taiwan Jones recovered at the Raiders 48. The Steelers forced a three-and-out and P Marquette King's punt bounced into the end zone for a touchback.

The Raiders held the Steelers to another three-and-out and CB Mike Jenkins blew up a wide receiver screen on 3rd and 4. RB Rashad Jennings got a hand on P Zoltan Mesko's punt and the Raiders took over at the Steelers 26. RB Darren McFadden cashed in with a 7-yard TD run. The extra point was good and the Raiders led 14-0 with 7:28 left in the 1st quarter.

RB Jonathan Dwyer returned the ensuing kickoff to the Pittsburgh 27. The Steelers drive stalled near midfield and Mesko came on to punt. Mesko's boot rolled into the end zone for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20.

The Raiders drive ended when Pryor's 3rd down pass was overthrown and intercepted by safety Troy Polamalu who returned it to the Oakland 48. The Raiders defensed stiffened and forced a K Shaun Suisham 47-yard FG attempt. The kick was good and cut the Raiders lead to 14-3 with 14:14 left in the 2nd quarter.

CB Taiwan Jones bobbled the ensuing kickoff and was dropped at the Oakland 10. The Raiders drive stalled at the Oakland 34 and King came on to punt. WR Antonio Brown called for and made a fair catch at the Pittsburgh 25.

The Raiders forced a three-and-out and Mesko came on to punt. A mad scramble for the punt resulted in the Raiders starting their next drive at their own 28. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin challenged the ruling believing Ford muffed the punt. The referee ruled that a Steelers player touched the ball first. The ruling was upheld and the Raiders kept the ball.

The Raiders marched down the field and McFadden scored his second rushing TD of the day – from 4 yards out on a WildCat play. The Raiders took a 21-3 lead with 1:55 left in the 2nd quarter.

The Raiders forced a three-and-out and Mesko came on to punt. Mesko shanked the punt and it went out of bounds at the Pittsburgh 46. Pryor's first pass popped out of WR Brice Butler's hands and was intercepted and returned to the Pittsburgh 43.

A few plays later, Suisham mssied a 34-ayrd FG attempt and the Raiders took over at the 24 with 8 seconds left in the 2nd quarter. Pryor took a knee and the Raiders took a 21-3 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Janikowski's opening kickoff of the 3rd quarter went for a touchback. The Steelers moved the ball down field and held it for almost 10:00 and came away with nothing when Suisham missed a 32-yard field goal. The Raiders took over at the 22.

The Steelers held the Raiders to a three-and-out and King came on. Brown returned the punt to the Pittsburgh 38.

The Raiders forced a punt which was downed at the Oakland 1. The Raiders were forced to punt. King's punt rolled dead at the Pittsburgh 26. After CB Mike Jenkins intercepted a Steelers pass at the 16, Ford gave it back with a fumble at the 11.

The Steelers took advantage with a 9-yard TD pass to WR Emmanuel Sanders. The PAT was good and the Raiders lead was cut to 21-10 with 12:11 left in the game.

Jones returned the ensuing kickoff to the Oakland 14. The Steelers held the Raiders to a three-and-out and King came on to punt. Brown called for and made a fair catch at the Pittsburgh 40.

The Raiders held the Steelers to a three-and-out and Mesko's punt rolled into the end zone for a touchback. The Steelers held the Raiders to another three-and-out and King came on to punt. Brown returned the punt to the Raiders 31.

CB Tracy Porter recovered a fumble after a Roethlisberger pass on 3rd and 3 and the Raiders took over at the 21. The Steelers forced a three-and-out and started at their own 17 after the punt and the return.

Pittsburgh tightened it up with a 2-yard RB Le'Veon Bell TD run and a successful two-point conversion making the score 21-18 with 1:24 to go.

Jennings recovered the onsides kick and the Raiders started at the 46. The Raiders were forced to punt and the Steelers started at the 2 with 18 seconds left and no time outs. After one completion, the clock ran out and the Raiders held on for the win.

The Raiders improve to 3-4 on the season and host the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday at O.co Coliseum.
