Owner Mark Davis voices support for Tom Flores as he awaits possible Hall of Fame selection

The Oakland Raiders won't find out for another eight days if former Head Coach Tom Flores will become a Hall of Famer, but Owner Mark Davis recently told the Talk of Fame network that the legendary coach belongs in Canton.

"Tom was involved in five Super Bowls and won four,'' Davis said. "As backup quarterback with Kansas City (in 1969), with the Oakland Raiders as an assistant coach and twice as head coach. He helped develop the vertical (passing) game with the Raiders. His whole resume is what I'd look at. It's overdue.''

Flores was announced as a Class of 2019 Finalist earlier this month, and he'll find out if he's officially selected to the Hall of Fame on February 2, 2019 when the Selection Committee meets in Atlanta to elect the Class of 2019. If selected, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019 will be formally enshrined on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 in Canton, Ohio.
