Eric,

You had one heck of a football career. You also went to a great school. Of course, you know I'm going to say that because we both went to Arizona State. When I got a chance to meet you while you were still playing in college, I knew you were a really talented guy.

I could tell your rookie year that you loved playing the game and were going to have a great NFL career.

I think it's awesome that we both spent 14 seasons in the NFL, played outside cornerback and finished our careers with the Raiders. We played on great teams with great players and great coaches and in great cities. You're a great guy and someone that you can rely on for anything. If you say you're going to do something, you're going to do it.

You were always in the right place at the right time and it's obvious that you studied like crazy. You possessed the most important quality to play a defensive back, which is you've got to love being challenged – not every game, but every play. You were fantastic!

Congratulations Eric, and welcome to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Mike
