Postgame Notes: Week 3 vs. Carolina Panthers

Team Highlights

  • The Raiders are averaging 244.7 passing yards per game in 2024, currently the fourth most in the NFL this season.
  • The Raiders converted on 3-of-3 (100.0%) red zone drives today. The Raiders have now converted on 5-of-7 (71.4%) red zone drives in 2024, their 71.4% red zone efficiency is tied for the fifth best mark in the NFL in 2024.
  • The Raiders defense held the Panthers to 5-of-12 (41.7%) on third downs. The Raiders defense has now held opponents to 12-of-38 (31.6%) on third downs in 2024. 31.6% is the 12th best mark among defenses in the NFL so far this season.

Offense Notes

  • TE Brock Bowers finished with three receptions for 41 yards (13.7 avg.). His 18 receptions on the season are the most among tight ends in the NFL in 2024. His 18 receptions are also the second most in Raiders history among players in their first three career games - only behind Amari Cooper, who had 20 receptions in the first three games of 2015.
  • RB Alexander Mattison notched his second rushing touchdown of the season, the 13th of hs career and also notched his third overall touchdown of 2024. He is now just the third Raiders' RB in the last 20 years to have a scrimmage TD in each of his first three games of a season, joining Marshawn Lynch in 2018 and Latavius Murray in 2016.
  • WR Jakobi Meyers tied for the team lead with seven receptions for 62 yards (8.9 avg.) and one touchdown in the game today. He followed his touchdown reception with a catch to convert on the two-point conversion. He is the first Raiders wide receiver with a receiving touchdown and a two-point conversion in the same game since Jordy Nelson on September 30, 2018 (vs. Cleveland).
  • QB Gardner Minshew II completed 18-of-24 (64.3%) passes for 214 yards, one touchdown, one interception and a 84.5 passer rating. Minshew has passed for 200+ yards and 1+ touchdown in each of his first three games with Las Vegas, tied for the second-longest streak by any Raider through his first three career games with the team (Jeff George, six in 1997).
  • WR Tre Tucker tied for the team lead with seven receptions for 96 yards (13.7 avg.) and one touchdown, an eight-yard grab in the fourth quarter from QB Aidan O'Connell. Tucker's seven receptions and 97 receiving yards are both single-game career highs.

Defense Notes

  • CB Jakorian Bennett finished the game with two tackles and one pass defensed. His four passes defensed on the season are a single-season career high. His four passes defensed are also currently tied for the fifth most in the NFL in 2024.
  • LB Robert Spillane led the defense with 11 total tackles (seven solo) and added 1.0 sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit. Spillane logged 10+ tackles for the third-straight game and has now joined Denzel Perryman (3 in 2021) as the only two players in Raiders history (since 1987) to start a season with three consecutive games of 10+ tackles.
