Postgame Notes: Week 4 vs. Cleveland Browns

Raiders 20, Browns 16

Team Highlights

  • This is the third time over the last 20 seasons the Raiders were down by 10+ points at the end of the first quarter and still won: Week 3 of 2021 vs Dolphins (Down 14-2, won 31-28 (OT)) & Week 2 of 2020 vs. Saints (Down 10-0, won 34-24).
  • The Raiders defense finished with three sacks, a season high. In games with 3+ sacks in 2023, the Raiders were 5-1.

  • The Raiders defense held the Browns to 3-for-10 (30.0%) on third downs in the game, this is the seventh straight game the Raiders have not allowed their opponent to convert 50.0+ percent of their 3rd-down attempts. Their seven-game streak is tied for the third longest active streak in the NFL.

Offense Notes

  • TE Brock Bowers finished with two receptions for 19 yards (9.5 avg.) and one rush for 12 yards in the game. He is the third Raiders TE to record a 12+ yard rush in a game since 1991, along with Derek Carrier (Week 9 of 2019) and Darren Waller (Week 15 of 2018)..
  • Bowers now has 20 receptions for 216 yards (10.8 avg.) on the season. His 20 receptions are the third most in NFL history among tight ends in their first four career games of their rookie season, only behind Sam LaPorta (22 in 2023) and Keith Jackson (21 in 1988).
  • RB Alexander Mattison led the team with a season-high 60 rushing yards on five carries (12.0 avg.). Mattison recorded three rushes of 15+ yards today. The last time a Raider had more in a single game was Jalen Richard in Week 13 of 2018 vs Chiefs (had four).
