The Raiders have re-signed guard Cooper Carlisle and signed free agent cornerback Shawntae Spencer.

"We are pleased to welcome Shawntae Spencer to the Raiders," Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie. "In addition, we're pleased to have Cooper, who has been a valued member of the offensive line, back with us."

Carlisle, a 12-year NFL veteran, has played the last five seasons with the Silver and Black, starting 79 of 80 games since joining the Raiders in 2007.

Last season, Carlisle started all 16 games and was part of an offensive line that set a franchise record by allowing only 25 sacks, the third-lowest total in the NFL. In Carlisle's five seasons in Oakland, the Raiders ranked in the top-10 in the NFL in rushing four times, including second in 2010 (155.9 ypg) and seventh in 2011 (131.9 ypg).

Carlisle was selected by the Broncos in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft following a four-year collegiate career at Florida. He played seven years in Denver, seeing action in 95 games with 38 starts.

Spencer played in 98 games with 72 starts in eight seasons for the San Francisco 49ers, totaling 11 interceptions, 2.5 sacks and 53 passes defensed.

He entered the league as San Francisco's second round selection (58th overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft, and played in 44 games with 39 starts in his first three professional seasons. He had a career-high four interceptions and 15 passes defensed in 2005.

Spencer started all 32 games at cornerback for the 49ers from 2009-10, totaling five interceptions over two seasons. He saw action in 9 games with San Francisco last season.
