The Bills won the opening coin toss and deferred their choice to the second half and the Raiders got the ball to start the game. K Rian Lindell's opening kickoff bounced through the end zone for a touchback and the Raiders started at their own 20. Both teams traded punts after three-and-outs.
The Raiders managed one first down on their second possession and punted the ball back to the Bills. Parrish made a fair catch at the Buffalo 15. Buffalo's drive was derailed and Moorman punted the ball back to the Raiders who took over at their own 29 after Miller's 12-yard return.
The Raiders got on the board first when RB Michael Bush plowed in from one yard out to cap a 14-play, 71-yard drive. K Sebastian Janikowski's extra point was good and the Raiders led 7-0 with 11:33 left in the 2nd quarter.
The Raiders got the ball back when CB Stanford Routt picked off a QB Ryan Fitzpatrick pass and returned it to the Buffalo 34. RB Darren McFadden's impressive, physical 5-yard TD and Janikowski extra point capped a 5-play, 34-yard drive and the Raiders led 14-0 with 8:08 left in the 2nd quarter.
Buffalo got on the board when Lindell capped a 10-play, 73-yard drive with a 25-yard field goal cutting the Raiders lead to 14-3 with 2:22 left in the 2nd quarter.
Miller returned the ensuing kickoff to the Raiders 18. QB Jason Campbell capped the 5-play, 82-yard drive with a 1-yard TD plunge. The extra point was good and the Raiders led 21-3 with 1:22 left in the second quarter.
Janikowski blasted the ensuing kickoff out of the back of the end zone for a touchback. The Bills mounted a drive that SS Tyvon Branch snuffed when he blocked Lindell's 39-yard field goal attempt at the end of the first half.
Janiowski's opening kickoff of the 2nd half was fielded and downed in the end zone for a touchback and the Bills started at their own 20. RB Fred Jackson scampered for a 43-yard TD and the Bills cut the Raiders lead to 21-10 with 13:26 left in the third quarter.
The Raiders next drive ended when Buffalo recovered a McFadden fumble at their own 42. Buffalo took advantange when Fitzpatrick connected with WR Stevie Johnson for a short TD pass. The extra point was good and the Raiders lead was cut to 21-17 with 3:41 left in the 3rd quarter.
The Raiders went three and out and CJ Spiller returned the 58-yard Lechler punt to the Buffalo 31. Jackson scored from a yard out to cap a 7-play, 69-yard drive and the extra point was good. The Bills claimed a 24-21 lead.
Campbell connected with McFadden for a 12-yard TD pass to culminate an 8-play, 80-yard drive. Janikowski's extra point was good and the Raiders took a 28-24 lead with 9:18 left to play.
Buffalo marched down the field and reclaimed the lead with a 9-play, 80-yard drive as Fitzpatrcik hit TE Scott Chandler for a shot TD pass. The extra point was good and the Bills led 31-28 with 4:48 left to play in the game.
The Raiders took over at their own 12 after the kickoff and the return. Moore gave the Raiders lead when he hauled in a 50-yard pass for a TD on double-coverage. The extra point was good and the Raiders lead was 35-31 with 3:41 left to play.
WR David Nelson scored on a pass on 4th and 1 and Buffalo took a 38-35 lead with 14 seconds to go.
After a touchback, the Raiders attempted a comeback. After a 24-yard completion to Moore the Raiders took a time out with 6 seconds left. His 1st down pass was incomplete. With 1 second left, Campbell's pass was intercepted in the end zone.
The Raiders fall to 1-1 and return home to face the New York Jets in the 2011 home opener at O.co Coliseum.
