PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Oakland Raiders have signed LB Bojay Filimoeatu (BO-jay FEE-lee-moy-ah-too) to their active roster from the team's practice squad, General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Saturday.
Filimoeatu originally signed with Oakland as an undrafted free agent in May, and was waived by the team at the end of training camp before signing to the practice squad two days later. He has appeared in one game this season for Oakland, making his NFL debut in last week's contest against Houston.
He started all 26 games during his two-year collegiate career (2011-12) at Utah State and registered 112 tackles (48 solo), eight sacks, one interception, two passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. His senior season, he posted 71 tackles and five sacks. The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder spent the 2013 campaign recovering from a knee injury sustained in January 2013.
The Raiders have also signed DE Shelby Harris to the team's practice squad.
